'The CEFR in Language Teaching' is a funded seminar under the National Seminar Series organised by the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching
IELTS test users may find the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Language s (CEFR) helpful. The framework is a series of descriptions of abilities at different learning levels that can be applied to any language.
The CEFR is available in 40 languages. The CEFR describes foreign language proficiency at six levels: A1 and A2, B1 and B2, C1 and C2. It also defines three ‘plus’ levels (A2+, B1+, B2+) The CEFR can be adapted and used for multiple contexts and applied for all languages.
